Besides the traditional education that he received from Akşehirli Ömer, Şehri Hafız Emin and Mehmed Tahir efend, he also received French, music and painting education from special teachers (hoca). In the period of Sultan Abdülmecid (1839-1861) that marked the beginning of Tanzimat, Westernization began and a tendency for judicial decision took over decreeing., the establishment of institution became popular. The non muslims who profited from the possibilities of acquiring properties by Tanzimat and Islahat decrees, initiated the Western life style and construction; on the other hand, Sultan Abdülmecid, who left the Topkapı Palace, adopted deep changes in the palace life style. As the construction of Dolmabahçe Palace that reflected the social-cultural changes with a western influence, was completed in 1856 and the government center of the state was transported here. The changing life style was reflected further more in the mansions, seaside housings and yachts constructed by the Ottoman civil and military high officials and by the foreign country representatives.
